Miami to Bermuda

Helloooo, sorry for not writing, it's been so much going on all the sime
since Miami, but I'll try to write more now!
Right now we are somewhere in the Bermuda triangle between Charleston and
Bermuda, I have to admit that it's a little scary to be here, in the
triangle, not a boat in sight, just water and dolphins.

Miami was great, I totally fell in love with the city and the people
there, everyone was so kind and helpful och the city was spectacular! So
much life and so much things to see. We went to Everglades one day, it's a
nationalpark where tey kept the actual nature. Miami used to be just swamp
and alligators. We went in the swamp with an airboat, we saw both
crocodiles and alligators, after the tour we went to a alligatorshow where
they made tricks, just like a dog, absolutely stunning!
For lunch I had Gator bites. Looks just like chickybits from Mc Donalds
but tasted way much better, it was a bit chewier though but with a bit of
lime on top it tasted great!
The heat in Miami was crazy, you could barely breath right the first days
before you got used to it. Of course we went to South beach and Miami
beach. There is really nothing special with it. Just a long, white beach.
But I've been there, done that and I do want to go back! It was about 30
degrees in the water, AWESOME! Last night in Miami I got at tattoo. I
music note on the hip. I've thought about it for a long time but I decided
to do it, to remember this trip. I'm so happy with it och I don't regret
it for one second!

The sailing to Charleston was tough and windy but funny, almost everyone
was seasick and puked everywhere, ew.
We measured the waves to about 8 meters. Sure it was rough, but I've been
in worse ;)
under deck the big messroom was a total mess, chairs and books all over
the floor, people on the floor, in the couch, on the tables. The ones who
have their cabins in the front of the corridor couldn't sleep because of
the hard sea, so they had to sleep in the messroom.

When we finally started to see land the captain came to me and said I was
going to steer into the port of Charleston, oh boy I was nervous. But when
the pilot got anboard he turned out to be really nice and funny, so
everything went fine and the pilot told me I was the youngest and most
clever student he ever seen. yaaay me!
Charleston was so cute, all the little houses, shops, i reminded me a lot
of England actually, don't know why, but it did. We went to the famous
Tanger Outlet to go shopping, O M G! I was in heaven, so much clothes and
so cheap. Tommy Hilfiger, converse, vans, Ralph Lauren, American Eagle,
Rue 21, Ann Taylor, Guess, YOU NAME IT! the had everything. I went there 2
days in row and totally emptied my wallet. The first day we went there we
took the bus. The bus went through the slum quarters and it was just like
"Cops". Old houses which barely existed, Rest of the time in Charleston
we spent by drinking coffee, eating good food and walking around.

Four days ago we set sails for Bermuda, it's been rainy and windy until
today. This morning when they woke us they told us the great news that it
was sunny and hot outsida, so I have spent most of the day on the
poop-deck with music and friends trying to get at better tan.
I'll write more tonight or tomorrow, it depends on when i'm getting some
time over :)

if you want to, you can email me at 32@gunilla.nu
It will say that my name is Karin Lavett, but it's from the previous class
who sailed. But it is me, promise:)
